Day at the Park & other Fun Photos

Kate and I went to our neighborhood park this week and enjoyed the great weather.

It was her first time in the "big kid" swing.

I'm so looking forward to this summer--we have great parks and a pool in walking distance. If her bathtime is any indication, I think Kate will love the pool. Here's a recent action shot of her splashing.

And here's another random photo that I think is cute. She's mimmicking mama and daddy on the laptop...

Thankfully, Kate has gotten over her cold, and we just finished the antibiotics for her ear infection, so all systems are go right now. She's really becoming much more of an outgoing kiddo, which is fun to watch. She's not apprehensive about strangers for the most part (except Matt Banks) and loves to be out and about. We were at a restaurant last night with the Conlys and the servers sang Happy Birthday really loudly to one of the customers, and Kate just loved it. I can remember a time when that probably would have freaked her out. :-) The ladies at the church nursery today told me that they think she's just itching to communicate. We'll probably have a real chatterbox on our hands in the not-too-distant future.

Colds, Teething . . . but Still Smiling!

Kate and I both have been dealing with a persistent cold for nearly two weeks, but I'm happy to say that we're both feeling better and hope to kick this thing soon. On top of a snotty nose, our litttle sweetpea also has multiple teeth coming in right now. Two, maybe 3 on top, and looks like 1 on the bottom as well. I can tell her gums are hurting something awful, but she's being a trooper. She absolutely loves to stand up now...she's been doing it for many months, but now I think she feels more confident and is beginning to learn to shuffle her feet to maintain balance. I snapped a few photos of her standing up in her crib, grinning big. (In the last picture, although she looks a little crazy, you can really see her top teeth coming in.)

Picnicking at 9 Months Old

Yesterday was Kate's 9 month birthday! On Saturday we took her on her first ever picnic. We enjoyed lunch & feeding the ducks at the Wells Branch Pond (our old stomping ground.) Kate was interested in the ducks, but didn't quite know what to make of them. She wasn't scared, but she wasn't exactly enamored, either. But, she does love being outside so it was a fun outing in unseasonably warm weather.
