Although we're both pretty tech savvy, it has taken us a while to catch on to this whole blogging thing. It's like the favorite pastime of all our new-parent friends, and--frankly--it's a disease. It's Blogging Fever. Why else would parents of infants be staying up to all hours of the night, posting pictures and videos and journaling their baby's every waking moment? Well, apparently the fever is contagious, because it is 11:39 p.m., the house is quiet, Kate is peacefully asleep, and instead of getting a good night's rest I am frantically typing away in a dark room lit only by the iridescent glow of the computer screen.
Kate is now 4 months old, so I'll try to post a few pictures of her early days to catch us up to date, for historical purposes and because she's so darn cute! For our far-removed friends and relatives, we hope you enjoy this blog and that it helps you share in the experiences of life with baby Kate.

Dear Momma & Daddy Benefield,
Although we live in the sticks,we still want to share all the up and down experiences of parenting with our daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter. Dial up internet makes it difficult, but we'll make every effort.
You've done a good job on the "blog." We know Kate will treasure looking back someday on little events that stir your hearts. Who knows, you might even record some of her expereinces with Grandma & Grandpa :-)
Love and prayers for wisdom as you rear this precious bundle.
God Bless & Keep you!
Grandma & Grandpa
